Western Everywhere - 6 hours with Martin

“Western Everywhere” is an interactive and engaging 6-hour improv workshop that transports the situations and tropes of the Wild West into everyday modern scenarios.

 

From supermarket standoffs to corporate prospectors, participants explore how the world of Westerns collides with daily life in humorous ways. 

 

Participants will learn how to take an absurd situation, ground it in reality, and extract the inherent comedy.

 

Perfect for those looking to broaden their improvisational skills, this workshop proves that the Old West isn’t old news; instead, it’s a treasure trove of comedic potential just waiting to be explored.

 

Characters Out West - 6 hours with Sarah

‘Characters Out West’ is an immersive and dynamic 6-hour workshop that invites you to explore the rich tapestry of character archetypes from the Wild West. Using iconic Western characters, participants will explore versatile characterization techniques that apply to characters in any scene or setting. 

 

Participants will practice universally applicable skills in; creating simple yet engaging perspectives to guide their character choices; embracing the power of silence, captivating audiences with what is left unsaid; and mastering character archetypes so they can be flipped, creating unexpected moments. 

 

Prepare to strike it rich as you delve into the treasure trove of character gold, waiting to be discovered amidst the untamed beauty of the Old West’s rugged terrains.

Neat Little Bow - 3 hours with Eoin

In this dynamic workshop, participants will learn how to deliver on the unspoken contract we write with an audience, including setups, payoffs, and conclusions. And how there is an arch in every show. 

 

Through fun, fast-paced group work, we will discover; How to spot the plots and subplots of each scene; How to keep track of the bigger picture; When to drop the big reveal; And how to work with your fellow players to deliver the endings that the audience is and sometimes is not expecting. 

 

This course is perfect for those looking to hone their listening and communication skills. And strengthen their lateral thinking and group work.

Justified - 3 hours with Eoin

Any choice can work and be believable as long as it’s justified.


Justification is the quickest way for an audience to connect to a character and for a show to become enthralling.

This three-hour intensive class will explore how to make the crazy seem logical. Through new and challenging exercises, participants will learn how to get into the mind of and understand the choices of any character they create.


While also learning the importance of justification and believability when reacting to a rapport with the audience. 

These skills are ideal for anyone who wants to make bolder, bigger movies on stage. And learn that there is no such thing as a bad choice as long as it’s Justified.

Biographies
Sarah.png

Sarah is an Irish improviser and actor who has been performing and teaching improv comedy in Copenhagen since 2016.

With a background in theatre from the age of four, she has a flair for characters and storytelling. She performs regularly with her character-driven comedy duo show “If These Walls Could Talk,” the narrative genre team “SuperCut.”

Sarah has trained and performed improv across Europe, North America, Australia, and Africa.  From home and abroad, Sarah brings extensive experience from performing, teaching, and coaching countless hours in many different improv styles.

Eoin.png

Owen is an improviser, Radio/Podcast presenter, and audio producer.

 

Through ten years of experience performing across Australia and Europe.

 

Owen has honed his storytelling skills on stage and on Mic.

 

Now based in Copenhagen, he performs regularly as part of the SuperCut troupe, pushing the boundaries of narrative improv.

 

As well as dipping into the less linear side of things from time to time.

Martin.png

Martin Baré is a seasoned improvisational theater performer and educator with over 15 years of experience.

Currently a member of the Copenhagen based team "Supercut," who excel in various genres, from Western to sci-fi.

As an experienced improv teacher, Martin creates fun and engaging classes, focusing on finding comedy in specifics, POV, and creating real reactions in absurd situations.

Martin’s transformative classes aim to sharpen your skills, embrace your silly side in a serious way, and (re)discover the joy of improvisation.
