Workshop Descriptions
STAGE, SPACE & SPORTS - 6 hours with Jutta
How to fit a whole football field on a tiny stage?
How to act out a team of 20 when you only have four players?
Physicality, object work, and heavy prioritisation is the key for creating a compelling action scene in the world of sports.
We will fine tune your group mind so you are able to build an intriguing stage picture.
We will teach you how to emphasise and draw attention to the most critical parts of the scene. In this workshop we will find ways to break the laws of physics in favour of improv.
Slam dunk!
SUPPORT FOR CHAMPIONS - 6 hours with Ulla
On stage we can’t rely on cool camera angles or other technical trickery, but we can still make the audience invested in the story we are creating.
The secret to this is supporting and reacting like there’s no tomorrow! This workshop dives into ways of supporting your fellow players in whichever brilliant decision they make (even when you feel unsure about what’s happening!).
Worried, still? Stop! As they say, one of the best supportive players you can have on stage is music! How you react to the music can make or break the scene.
We will examine how music can make your already fascinating scenes feel like they escaped straight from a movie! React to your scene partner and the music and you have a golden ticket in your hands! Hole in one!
I WANT IT I NEED IT - 3 hours with Janne
Narrative improv feeds on the protagonist’s motive. It must be clear. What do they want?
Establishing a want early in the play will help you stay grounded, because without the want a protagonist is just a random doofus going on about their day aimlessly like all of us. What a loser!
Once you nail down what your protagonist wants in the first scenes of your play, then it’s a smooth narrative ride until the climax of your show. And that's what this workshop is about.
This is also about a need and how that relates to the want. Confused? We too! Wish someone had taught us this workshop.
DORKING AROUND - 3 hours with Jutta, Janne and Boris
We The Dorks are devout believers that everything we do on and off stage has to come from a place of fun - and the sillier the fun, the better the fun!
Having fun is a mindset that needs to be switched on before we jump into the unknown together.
Did we mention fun?
This workshop is for improvisers who overthink, override and overwhelm. We will work on letting go and being in the moment, finding the fun and surfing it like Jaws was never made.
Join the four of us Dorks and let happiness run throughout your body! Score!

Doris Likes Everything
We are four spirited friends of improv who met at Finland International Improv Festival in Tampere 2018. We quickly realized all four of us had a need for a new project. A project that would really push our limits as improvisers. After the very first rehearsal it was already clear - we are like a perfect Tinder match of four!
We have nearly 30 years of combined improv experience and we are all keen on learning new skills, pushing ourselves and each other to the next level and even beyond.
We have now performed together in various countries, cities & festivals and Doris Likes Everything has formed itself into the perfect combination of dorkiness and coolness. We take our projects seriously but always with a heartful idiotism as a spice.
Jutta Tilvis (FIN) is fairly weird. And when we say “fairly” we mean extremely.
But boy, do we love weird!
She has mad skills at committing to the most ridiculous scenes and she constantly baffles her team members with her proper acting skills and taste for peculiar foods. Pickled things are her thing.
Jutta is an in-house actor at Snorkkeli, an improv company in Tampere. Her hobbies include acrobatics, ballet, party tricks, elaborate handshakes, and her cats are named after different types of Finnish fireplaces.

It is hard to describe Ulla Oksanen (FIN).
As an eternally curious person she has studied a vast variety of topics so she is wise like an owl. Basically all of our show ideas come from her Versailles of a mind. But on stage Ulla is also an infinite powerhouse of energy, silliness and fun. If you haven’t seen her shooting with her finger guns (pew pew!), have you even truly lived?
She can be grounded like a silly tree or loose as a silly goose with nothing to silly moose. You kind of just have to see her. When partying she is a real mad Lassie! On the dance floor Ulla is like a Jack In A Box with legs. Or a Slinky with arms. We really hope you get the chance to have a sighting of an Ulla. You will love her. Everyone loves an Ulla.
Janne Lesonen (FIN) is a veteran player of the English improv scene in Tampere.
He is generous on and off stage and has some of the boldest and funniest improv moves ever seen. Have you seen him lean on an improvised wall?! He will write an improv book one day, maybe. And it will be amazing - just like Janne. Janne is notorious for not being able to shoot down his team members’ awful ideas - that’s Janne for you, a proper gentleman with idiotic sunglasses.
From the moment he started his improv adventure, he was able to gain a cult following. Some people are even competing for the honor to bear the title of His Biggest Fan. When Janne is not improvising, he’s listening to music on vinyl, adoring cats and being a humble glamour god. Janne’s social media presence is not for the faint of hearts. Target audience: best of people!

Boris Kashentsev (KAZ) was introduced to the world of improv about 13 years ago. It took another two years for him to finally try it for himself. He came into the world of Improv to try to shake off his shyness and he never found the way to stop. Currently, he is performing with Doris Likes Everything, Loud Visual and JadaJadaImprov.
Boris is like a well-kept house plant - he brings you immense joy and oxygen to get through the gray days. He’s a kind, modest and humble soul, but underneath he’s a real party boy and an amazing friend for life. He has an excellent work ethic: he works like a work horse on steroids who has been coached by The Rock (who is also on steroids). His range of characters is of cosmic proportions - he can play an animal, an inanimate object and a grounded character with such an emotional gusto that will turn you instantly into one of his fans.
